About Us

Starling is a creative wellbeing organisation based in Greater Manchester.

We create safe, inclusive groups and workshops where neurodivergent young people can feel accepted, supported, and proud of who they are.

Our mission is to create spaces where neurodivergent young people can find their flock, build wellbeing and friendships, and thrive with confidence.

We show up with compassion, authenticity and curiosity.

Our Team

We are a flock of facilitators and young leaders, many of whom are neurodivergent themselves.

Together, we create spaces where young people can be themselves, build friendships, and grow in confidence.

Our Story

Starling was founded by Katie Charlton, an artist-leader, coach, and community-builder.

Katie saw how often neurodivergent young people felt on the outside, and how powerful it could be to bring them together in spaces of safety and belonging. With a background in the arts and leadership, she understood how creativity and care could nurture wellbeing and connection.

Starling began with this vision: a flock where neurodivergent young people could gather, support one another, and shine.
